The Rev. Michael Vollman, PhD

A native of Southern Indiana, The Rev. Dr. Michael Vollman was appointed Trinity’s priest-in-charge following his ordination to the priesthood in June, 2023.  Before that appointment, Rev. Vollman served as a deacon at Trinity, Russellville, and at Trinity, Owensboro, following his ordination to the diaconate in 2014. 

Rev. Vollman holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Trevecca Nazarene University (1981), a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (1994), a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Nursing Science from the Vanderbilt University Graduate School (2003), and a Diploma in Anglican Studies from Bexley Seabury Seminary (2022). Before his academic retirement in 2019, Rev. Vollman’s professional life included serving as a graduate faculty member at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, Georgetown University’s Berkley School of Nursing, and the Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia.  

He currently resides in Springfield, Tennessee, with his spouse of 27 years, Shannon. They share their home with an assortment of pets, all of which were adopted as abandoned strays. In addition to his ongoing studies of Anglican liturgy and tradition, Rev. Vollman enjoys a variety of activities, including cycling, hiking, gardening, and cheering for his beloved Vanderbilt Commodores and Tennessee Titans.

Mary Beth Dowden, MME

Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Mary Beth moved with her family to Russellville, Kentucky, in time to begin her first year at Russellville High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Centre College and her Master of Music Education degree from George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University.

Mary Beth spent 32 years teaching music in the Russellville Independent Schools and, for many of those years, taught private voice and piano lessons in her home. She has served as the organist and music director at First Presbyterian Church for 56 years, and as organist at Trinity Episcopal Church since March 2022. A charter member of the deGraffenried Chorale (1978), Mary Beth has been honored to serve as its director since 2011.  She is grateful to God for the gift of music and for the opportunity to share it with her Trinity church family.
